Meeting The Cost Of Medical Care Without Health Insurance

health care spending is growing faster today than at any time in history, and a whopping 80 percent of all Americans today say they are dissatisfied with the way health care is managed and financed. Indeed, 60 percent of all Americans has gone so far as to say they were very dissatisfied.

National health expenditure in the U.S. is now almost $ 2.5 trillion (representing more than $ 7,500 per person), and this figure is expected to grow to more than $ 4 trillion over the next ten years. Currently this is more than double the consumption of health care in countries such as Switzerland, Germany, France and Canada and has more than four times the amount the U.S. spends on national defense.

In short, the United States spends more on healthcare than most other industrialized countries (many of which provide health care for all citizens) and yet, despite the incredibly high level of expenditure has more than 47 million Americans without any form of health of insurance. It is a national disgrace!

But, of course, only part of the picture, because things are often a little better for those with health insurance osiguranja.Trošak is now so high that half of all Americans to say as his top economic relations and the increasing number of people or limit their cover to meet their budget or accept what they have in reality already unmanageably high deductibles and out-of pocket expenses.

Every 30 seconds someone in the U.S. file for bankruptcy as a result of a serious medical problem and more than half of all bankruptcies today are the result of problems with medical bills. Indeed, the average debt of medical bills for people filing for bankruptcy is now $ 12,000.

When we talk about health care costs without health insurance are not only talking about the financial cost, but also about the cost in terms of ruined lives. Of course, medical bills do not force everyone into bankruptcy, but many families are forced to make significant changes to their lifestyle to pay their medical bills and millions of Americans often delay treatment of serious medical conditions simply because they can not meet expenses.

In this presidential election season is not surprising to find that health care and health insurance in particular, comes high on the agenda, but will simply be used as a political weapon to get votes or will there be significant changes in the direction of the 2009 to begin to solve this major problem? Only time will tell, of course, but look back the past few years, hardly anyone can inspire us to believe that whoever ends up in the White House, he or she is likely to be able to do anything to make a significant difference for those of us who want nothing more than to provide adequate protection for themselves and their families.
